Pedographic findings in 461 patients in a foot and ankle outpatient clinic – definition of standard pedographic patterns for typical pathologies
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction Pedography is the most sophisticated method for biomechanical analysis in foot and ankle. Standard force distribution patterns for physiologic (normal) conditions had been defined on the basis of a sufficient number of examined individuals. However, standard force distribution patterns for certain pathologic conditions have not been established so far. Consequently, pedographic data could be compared with physiologic data only but not with standard pathologic data. The goal of this study was to create a basis for a definition of standard pedographic force disctribution patterns for different typical pathologic conditions.

The Effects of Modified Ankle Foot Orthosis on balance in Healthy Older People
Introduction: Balance impairment and related injuries are common in elderly and patients with neurologic disorders. Ankle foot orthosies can influence on balance via improvement of movement disorders. Therefore the aim of this study was to investigate the effects of modified ankle-foot orthosis on balance performance in healthy elderly. Materials & Methods: The research was conducted on ten ...
متن کاملIntraoperative pedography: a validated method for static intraoperative biomechanical assessment.
BACKGROUND A new device was developed to perform intraoperative static pedography. The purpose of this study was to validate the introduced method by a comparison with the standard method for dynamic and static pedography. METHODS A device known as Kraftsimulator Intraoperative Pedographie (KIOP) was developed for intraoperative placement of standardized forces to the sole of the foot. Pedogr...
متن کاملRelationship between pedographic analysis and the Manchester scale in hallux valgus.
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between the Manchester scale and foot pressure distribution in patients with hallux valgus deformity. METHODS The study included 152 feet of 87 patients with hallux valgus and a control group of 391 feet of 241 individuals without hallux valgus deformity. The severity of hallux valgus was determined using the Manchester scale gra...
متن کاملEffect of Rocker Bar Ankle Foot Orthosis on Functional Mobility in Post-Stroke Hemiplegic Patients: Timed Up and Go and Gait Speed Assessments
Objectives: Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs) are widely utilized to improve walking ability in hemiplegic patients. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of Rocker bar Ankle Foot Orthosis (RAFO) on functional mobility in post-stroke hemiplegic patients. Methods: Fifteen hemiplegic patients (men and women) who were at least 6-months poststroke and able to walk without an assis...
متن کاملDesign and Evaluation of an Articulated Ankle Foot Orthosis with Plantarflexion Resistance on the Gait: a Case Series of 2 Patients with Hemiplegia
Ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) have been described to have positive effects on the gait biomechanics in stroke patients. The plantarflexion resistance of an AFO is considered important for hemiplegic patients, but the evidence is still limited. The purpose of this case series was to design and evaluate the immediate effect of an articulated AFO on kinematics and kinetics of lower-limb joints in str...
